Who We Are
FetchBack ("we," "us," or "our") is an AI-powered shopping agent that helps users find the best prices, negotiate deals, and optimize credit card rewards. We operate at https://fetchback.ai.
FetchBack is operated by Steven Hansen, a sole proprietorship based in Texas.

What We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account
- Card wallet data: Credit card names, last 4 digits, and card network (we never collect full card numbers, CVV codes, or expiration dates)
- Search history: Queries you enter into the search bar
- Purchase records: Products you authorize through FetchBack, including product name, store, price, and card used
- Wishlist items: Products you save for later
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, clicks, and session duration
- Device information: Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution
- IP address: Used for approximate location (city/state level) and security
- Cookies and similar technologies: See our Cookie Policy section below
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Full credit card numbers
- Card CVV/security codes
- Card expiration dates
- Bank account credentials
- Social Security numbers
- Passwords in plain text
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Operate the service — run searches, score card rewards, display results
- Personalize your experience — generate shopping intelligence profiles and recommendations based on your history
- Improve the product — analyze usage patterns to fix bugs and add features
- Send transactional communications — price drop alerts, order confirmations (you control these)
- Comply with legal obligations — respond to lawful requests from authorities
- Prevent fraud and abuse — protect against unauthorized access
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data to serve you advertisements from other companies.
AI and Automated Decision-Making
FetchBack uses AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to:
- Interpret your search queries and detect product categories
- Generate product recommendations and shopping summaries
- Build a Shopper Intelligence Profile based on your history
What this means for you: AI recommendations are suggestions, not guarantees. The AI may make errors. You are always in control — no purchase is made without your explicit approval.
You can request deletion of your AI-generated profile at any time from Settings → Privacy.
Affiliate Links and Commercial Relationships
FetchBack participates in affiliate programs including the Amazon Associates Program and others. When you click a "Buy on [Store]" link, we may earn a commission from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you.
This commission is how we fund the free service. It does not affect which products we recommend — our rankings are based on price, reviews, and match quality, not commission rates.
As required by the Federal Trade Commission, we clearly disclose these affiliate relationships. You will see this disclosure near every affiliate link in the app.
Data Sharing
We share your data only in these limited circumstances:

All third-party providers are bound by data processing agreements. We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing platforms.
Your Rights
All Users
- Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
- Correction: Update inaccurate information in Settings
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Danger Zone
- Export: Download your purchase history as CSV from the History screen
California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to know what data is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of the sale of your data. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, email privacy@fetchback.ai or use the in-app deletion tools.
A "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link is available in our footer. Clicking it confirms we do not sell your data and documents your preference.
Users in Other States
19 US states now have consumer privacy laws. We honor deletion and access requests from all US residents regardless of state.
EU/UK Users
If you access FetchBack from the EU or UK, GDPR applies. Our legal basis for processing is legitimate interest (operating the service) and consent (for optional features like intelligence profiles). Contact privacy@fetchback.ai to exercise GDPR rights.

Security
We protect your data with:
- Encryption in transit (TLS 1.3)
- Encryption at rest (Supabase AES-256)
- Row-level security on all database tables (your data is isolated from other users)
- No storage of full payment card details at any point
Children's Privacy
FetchBack is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact privacy@fetchback.ai and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We will notify you of material changes by email (if you have an account) and by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
